Citadel
Landmark of the city and historical event venue
Motorworld Manufaktur Berlin is picturesquely located in the middle of nature on a peninsula directly on the Havel River and in the immediate vicinity of the Citadel. On the plot of land where Jörgen Skafte Rasmussen began to build the first DWK automobiles in January 1928, a very special place is being created again almost 100 years later.
A diverse history makes the site historically unique: The area on Lake Spandau was initially the Royal Rifle and Ammunition Factory in 1722. From 1919, Deutsche Industriewerke produced bicycles, railroad cars, automobiles and motorcycles here. From 1926 until the 1960s, DKW two-stroke and Audi vehicles, as well as motorcycles and electric cars, were built on the 43,000-square-meter site.
After a slumber of more than 20 years, the site was reawakened in 2015 by Motorworld. In addition to luxury brands such as Lamborghini, Aston Martin and Brabus, one can find American motorcycles as well as gastronomy and wine specialties.
Monthly on Sundays from 11:00 to 13:00 the Motorcafé - an open-brand meeting for classic cars, neoclassics, sports cars and bikes takes place. Youngtimer & classic car drivers - and those who would like to become one - are cordially invited!
