Spandau shows off its verdant side particularly when you visit one of its many green spaces and parks. Whether idyllically located on the banks of the Havel or right by Spandau’s town hall – there are plenty of places to escape the hustle and bustle.

This six-kilometre-long urban greenway goes from the Burgwall in Spandau all the way to Staaken and is perfect for walkers, cyclists and inline skaters. Along the way there are wetlands, waterways that have been returned to nature and various play areas.

This park with its extensive meadows and a playground is connected by a footpath to the Bullengraben.

This park is located in Wilhelmstadt district directly on Grimnitzsee, which is connected to the Havel by a small river course. The protected landscape area also has an adventure playground.

This a small park is located directly on the waterfront on the narrow west bank of Nordhafen and has a fishing bay-themed children’s playground.

Named after Friedrich Koeltze, the first mayor of Spandau, this is one of the oldest parks in the borough. A walk through the park is a chance to enjoy the venerable and beautiful trees, with more than 20 different species, as well as the extensive lawns with many benches and a pavilion.

This recently created park is between Spandau Nordhafen and Maselake Bay. The promenade is a reminder of the historical course of the Spandau moat and the Nordhafen’s former industrial use as an inland port.

Opposite Spandau town hall is the Münsingerpark, which covers about five hectares. It has extensive sunbathing lawns where you can relax from the hustle and bustle, but in the immediate vicinity of the old town.

The Südpark is located in Spandau’s Wilhelmstadt district. Large lawns with tables and benches invite you to have a picnic. The small lake in the middle isn’t suitable for bathing, but gives the place an idyllic atmosphere. Right next to the park there’s also a sport and leisure facility. On the other side of Heerstraße is a bay of the river Havel called Scharfe Lanke, where many sailing and rowing clubs are based.

Stabholzgarten is behind Spandau town hall on the banks of the Havel, where you’ll find a large sunbathing lawn and numerous benches as well as the Batardeau fortification. From here, you can walk across the Lindensteg directly to Lindenufer.

Spandau’s oldest park is located opposite the Citadel on the banks of the Havel. Extensive lawns with sun loungers, old trees and a view of the Havel give the park its special charm.

Stresowpark is directly by the Havel in Spandau and offers a beautiful view of the old town. Spandau’s old gun foundry is situated at the edge of the park.

Krienicke Park is in the Haselhorst district opposite Eiswerder island. From the slightly elevated viewing area you can sit under the pergolas and look out on the Havel. The park also has a bathing area.
